For many believers in America, the Bible sits unread and collecting dust.
Did you know 58% of churchgoers don’t read the Bible or only read it a few times a year? And of Americans that read the Bible, only 11% have read all of it.
If people don’t read the Bible, what’s really at stake?
Research shows that the life of a person who engages with the Bible four times a week is significantly different from the life of a person who doesn’t. Bible reading and engagement is critical to the believer’s spiritual growth.
And yet, the latest Barna/American Bible Society study on Bible engagement shows that during the pandemic, daily Bible readership dropped from 14% to 9%. And only 23% of American adults are Bible centered or Bible engaged (meaning that their choices and relationships are shaped by Scripture).
Accessibility to the Word of God doesn’t seem to be the problem—more than 87% of American households own at least one Bible (most own at least three copies), and we have unprecedented access to countless Bible studies and other resources.
In John 17:17, Jesus prayed that His followers would be sanctified by the truth of God’s Word. It makes sense, then, that believers who read Scripture—study it, memorize it, live by it—look more like Jesus. So how can we grow as believers if we don’t engage with Scripture?
What if there was a way to inspire Christians to read and understand and apply the truths of Scripture to their lives? What if we could teach and engage believers in a fun way with the result that they will want to read and study the Bible for themselves?
We can!
At Walk Thru the Bible, we help people everywhere live God’s Word. Through our otLIVE and ntLIVE events, we unpack the big-picture story of the Bible, tell the larger narrative of the Bible, and connect the dots of the Old and New Testaments. Memorable, fun, interactive, energetic, biblical, solid—these are just a few of the words people use to describe the Walk Thru the Bible live event experience.
When the event is over, the participants are passionate about the living Word. In fact, more than 75% of live event attendees commit to reading the Bible every day. And when people engage with Scripture, lives are changed, families are healed, communities are impacted.
Because the Bible changes everything!
So what are you waiting for?
Take the next step for increasing your church’s biblical engagement!
“The live event was probably the best, deepest, and simplest teaching I have ever received in my 32 years as a Christian. I would recommend and endorse this for any church, denomination, or individual. Fantastic!” —Pastor Steve Dixon, Freedom Fellowship
