Central AmericaCountries: Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua Description: Alejandro and his team work in a region in the midst of economic and political crisis. Honduras is recovering slowly from the 2009 Constitutional Crisis and resulting coup d'état. Increasing poverty levels, as well as political and social instability, define Central America. As a result, the traditional family unit is changing. The rates of teenage pregnancy, divorce, and child abandonment are rising at an alarming rate. Alejandro and his team are dedicated to reversing these trends. Using radio programs, live events, and partnerships with pastors and church leaders, they are committed to making God's Word accessible and relevant to everyone throughout the region. Regional Director: Alejandro Oviedo Alejandro and his wife, Luisa, have three children: Alejandro, Laura, and Ana Lucía. 2010 Impact:Trainers: Live Events: Broadcasting: Link to regional website: http://caminatabiblica.org/ Quote: "This city has been affected by violence, AIDS, and drug trade amongst other things. Our presence in this area is greatly needed—many pastors find themselves overwhelmed and in need of our support and training." |
