Dr. Mark L. Bailey – Director

Mark Bailey joined Dallas Theological Seminary in 1985 as a professor in the Bible Exposition department. In 1997 he was appointed as vice president for academic affairs and academic dean. In 1999, he assumed the additional role of provost. In March 2001, Dr. Bailey was named as the Seminary's fifth president in its 90-year history. For over 40 years, his career passions have been theological education and pastoral ministry. He was an event instructor for Walk Thru the Bible Ministries for 20 years. Dr. Bailey and his wife, Barby, have been married for over 40 years. They have two sons, both of whom are married, and five grandchildren. Dr. Bailey also serves on the boards of Bible Study Fellowship, Insight for Living, and Jews for Jesus.


Edwin T. Bryant – Director

Ed Bryant earned a bachelor's and master's degree in actuarial science from Georgia State University, and he is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Ed spent his professional career with Towers Perrin, a large international management consulting firm where he was the managing director/principal for the firm's Southeastern offices. Since his early retirement, he has been president of his own consulting firm, Bryant Advisory Group, and has served as chief operating officer for Firstdoor, Inc., a human resource technology firm. In addition, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for Walk Thru the Bible from October 2005 through March 2007. Ed and his wife, Lorraine, live in Atlanta and have two adult children and five grandchildren.


Dr. Carter Harsh

Carter has been a practicing neurosurgeon in Birmingham, Ala., since 1991. He is involved in his church in a variety of positions, including the global missions leadership team. He has served on the boards for the Christian Medical Ministry of Alabama and Briarwood Christian School, and in leadership for Young Life. He and his wife, Cindy, have four children.


Judy Huber

Judy is a resident of Scottsdale, AZ and has been in Arizona for over 45 years. She and her husband, Ron Huber, started Time Systems Inc. in 1978. Judy held the position of Vice President of Administration and together they built the business of taking time management training seminars to Fortune 500 companies all across the U.S. and Canada. In 1995 Time Systems was sold.

Judy serves as Chair, Women of Momentum Committee at Phoenix Seminary where the main focus is raising funds for the Women of Momentum Scholarship Fund. Since 2013, Women of Momentum has awarded 38 scholarships to deserving women at Phoenix Seminary.

Judy currently serves on the Boards of The Center for Arizona Policy and Phoenix Seminary. She has previously served on the Boards of Crisis Pregnancy Centers of Greater Phoenix; Christian Financial Concepts; Motor Racing Outreach; and Pinnacle Forum Women.

Judy has two married daughters and now enjoys every opportunity to spend time with her seven grandchildren.

Judy Huber

Dr. John H. Isch – Chairman

John Isch has been involved with Walk Thru the Bible almost since its inception. He is a retired cardiovascular surgeon from Indianapolis where he founded and served with a large clinical practice for thirty two years. Over the years he has performed many roles in the medical arena but now limits his professional involvement to the coaching and mentoring of younger physicians. He currently serves on the Board of the Navigators, the Advisory Board of the Ron Blue Institute at Indiana Wesleyan University and chairs the Board of the National Christian Foundation-Indiana. He and his wife Mary are committed to the church and serve by hosting and leading Bible studies and discipling men and women. They have three married children and ten grandchildren.


Paul H. Johnson – Treasurer/Chairman Emeritus

Paul Johnson is a semi-retired real estate developer in Birmingham, Michigan. He studied architecture and design at the University of Michigan before starting his own construction business in 1950. He has been a leader in the Christian Business Men's Committee of U.S.A. He has held many leadership positions at his home church, Highland Park Baptist in Southfield, Michigan as well as Maranatha Bible Conference in Muskegon, Michigan. Mr. Johnson also served as chairman of the board of Moody Bible Institute and Walk Thru the Bible, where he is now serving as board member emeritus. Mr. Johnson has three adult children and fourteen grandchildren. He and his wife, Pam, live in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.


Andre' T. Kennebrew

Andre’ Kennebrew joined Chick-fil-A in 2006 as a Franchise Selection Consultant.  He currently serves in the Corporate Talent Department leading the selection efforts for the Field Operations Department and Field Events Programs. Before joining Chick-fil-A, Andre’ served as the Administrative Pastor at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Tucker, Georgia.  He been an ordained Baptist Minister since 2003.  Before entering Christian Ministry, he served as a Vice President at First Union National Bank (now Wells Fargo) for 15 years.  Andre’ attended Davidson College where he majored in Political Science and was a 3 year starter in football.  He also has a Master of Ministry Degree from Luther Rice Seminary. Andre’ has been married to his wife Donna for 28 years.   He has two children, Holden and Kristen.


Thomas W. Steipp – Vice Chairman

Tom is the President and CEO of Liquidmetal Technologies, a leading force in the research, development and commercialization of amorphous metals. Other career highlights include marketing and general management positions in mass storage, computer networking, and government programs. He has had assignments in the U.S. Air Force as an electrical engineer in support of Titan missiles and as a T-38 instructor pilot. Tom received his BSEE from the United States Air Force Academy and an MBA from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. He currently serves on the boards of several public, private, and non-profit organizations. He and his wife, Deb, live in California and have two married children and three grandchildren.


Cathy Tanana

Cathy was the Director of Women’s Ministries at Highland Park Baptist Church in Southfield, Michigan for 12 years. She continues to teach the young moms group at her church, lead Bible Study for the Detroit Tiger Wives, and enjoys speaking to women’s groups on a variety of subjects. She has been married to Frank Tanana, retired Major League Baseball pitcher, for 40 years. She was raised in Long Beach, California where she studied dance at Long Beach State and then met Frank while he was playing for the then California Angels. After stops in Boston, Texas, and New York, baseball took them to Frank’s hometown in Detroit, Michigan, where they reside today. Along the way, their ministries grew and so did their family. They are the proud parents of four daughters and have four sons-in-law and 14 grandchildren.


Philip S. Tuttle – President & CEO, Walk Thru the Bible

For more than two decades, Phil Tuttle has been a vital member of the Walk Thru the Bible family. While pastoring in central Illinois, he began teaching Walk Thru the Bible's live events in 1988 and then moved to Atlanta in 1992 to serve full time as Dean of Faculty. He later served as Senior Vice President for International Ministries and Global Teaching Pastor before becoming President and CEO in 2007.

A native of Normal, Illinois, Phil received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Education and Bible from Wheaton College in 1980 and his Master of Theology degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1984.

As President of Walk Thru the Bible, Phil continues to share God's Word throughout the world in churches, Bible conferences, Christian education conventions, and corporate gatherings. He is the author of Raise Up a Child, Crucible: The Choices that Change Your Life ForeverDetour: Finding Purpose When Life Doesn't Make Sense, Chosen: When God Calls Your Name, and Revolution: How Millennials Can Change the World.

Phil is also deeply involved in his home church, The Bridge, in Lawrenceville, GA where he occasionally teaches and preaches. His unique blend of biblical instruction, real-life illustrations, and spontaneous humor makes learning easy and enjoyable.

Phil and his wife, Ellen, have two adult children, Emily and Philip, and a daughter-in-law, Erika.


John Van Diest – Director

A book publisher for over 30 years, John Van Diest founded Multnomah Press and Vision House and is presently serving as associate publisher of Tyndale House Publishers. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary. Mr. Van Diest has helped to establish publishing in countries like Russia, China, and several Muslim countries. He has served on the board of directors of the Portland Rescue Mission, the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association, and Trout Creek Camp. He currently serves on the board of the Teeny Foods Corporation. John and his wife, Pat, have three adult children and eleven grandchildren.
